Today we have a very practical, everyday phrasal verb that you must know if you want to speak with native English speakers.

"This girl looks completely mixed up."

Meaning #1- Mix up

  • Meaning: This means that someone is confused or not able to understand something clearly

  • Examples: "My friend mixed up the directions and got lost." or " I got completely mixed up about the date of our meeting."


"We got really mixed up about the right direction to take."







Meaning #2- Mix up


  • Meaning: To combine many things together such as ingredients

  • Examples: "To make the meal you have to put all of the ingredients together and mix them up."


"We mixed all of the ingredients up in a big pot and cooked them."
